Luxury Vinyl Flooring Guide
Luxury vinyl flooring is trendy and ultra-durable because of its special construction. Unlike hardwood and stone, luxury vinyl is made from synthetic maters that make it extra durable. With this construction, luxury vinyl can resist surface scratches and scuffs, and it also can handle spills and stains. The additional support layers in the planks and tiles help to prevent the floor from cracking, chipping, or breaking.
Types of Luxury Vinyl
There are a few different types of luxury vinyl flooring options, including luxury vinyl tile flooring and luxury vinyl plank flooring. Luxury vinyl tiles are made to look like tile but feel warmer and more comfortable, whereas luxury vinyl planks looks like hardwood, but perform better in humid areas.
Durability of Luxury Vinyl Flooring
LVT refers to vinyl tiles and planks that have a high-quality construction and a realistic appearance. LVT floors generally have a higher vinyl content that makes them more durable. The tile features a solid vinyl backing with a high-quality image layer to replicate the appearance of their authentic counterparts. LVT also has a protective film layer and a protective wear layer to protect the floor from dents, scratches, scuffs, and stains.
Is Luxury Vinyl Flooring Waterproof?
LVT offers comfort underfoot, extreme resilience, water resistance, and a realistic look. We have different brands of LVT, including the Carpet One Floor & Home exclusive brand Invincible LVT, which features easy click and lock installation and a waterproof seal. All Invincible LVT products feature Titanium levels of The Beautiful Guarantee, so you can have some solace in knowing that your product will last a long time and if you don’t like the look, we will replace it for free.
Where Can Luxury Vinyl Be Installed?
Although hardwood and stone offer natural style and luxury, they aren’t suitable for every residential setting. Hardwood, for example, isn’t the best option for areas with moisture or heavy foot traffic. Luxury vinyl, however, is suitable for pretty much any area in the home. It can withstand the foot traffic you typically see in living rooms, it is comfortable enough for bedrooms, and it can handle the moisture you’d expect in kitchens. In high-traffic or high-moisture areas like bathrooms, however, we do recommend choosing a waterproof luxury vinyl floor.
